This project explores the intersection of design and the Japanese aesthetic of 'emptiness (Ku)’ and 'in-between (ma)'.


The ikebana (flower arrangement) installation expresses the idea that the space between (間/ma) is not a void, but an integral part of a harmonious whole, while the layered posters aim to make people think about the value of authenticity through emptiness (空/ku).




The publication
introduces these two concepts and focuses emphasizing the authenticity and richness that emptiness brings.





Typography

To reflect this sense of impermanence, I created an alphabet specimen sheet that visualises typography as a temporal trace rather than a fixed form.

Each letter captures a suspended moment, expressing movement, fragility, and atmosphere.

A multicultural and interdisciplinary designer exploring identity, relational space, materiality, and belonging.
Her practice positions design as a vehicle for positive change, working across Inclusive Design and Branding & Identity through research-led experimentation.

She is currently completing an MA in Graphic Design Communication at the University of the Arts London, after earning a BA in International Liberal Studies from Waseda University.
